Over the decade, we welcomed learners from every corner of the globe—Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia, and overseas Chinese communities—serving university students, working professionals, managers, and senior executives. We specialize in conversational Mandarin, business Chinese, HSK preparation, cross-cultural communication, and corporate training for businesses operating in China. After a brief hiatus, Red Carpet Mandarin is now back as a dedicated online academy, offering live classes via Zoom. We have expanded our courses to include traditional Tai Chi, Chinese wellness, Feng Shui, calligraphy, and painting—providing a holistic journey into Chinese language and culture

Brand History

Red Carpet Mandarin was founded in 2003 by David Liwen Chen in Jing’an District, Shanghai, as a professional Chinese language training institution dedicated to international learners. During 2003 to 2013, the brand focused on providing tailored Mandarin teaching services, including daily conversation, business Mandarin, HSK preparation and cross-cultural communication courses.

Rooted in the local expat community of Shanghai, Red Carpet Mandarin built a solid reputation through high-quality instruction and personalized teaching models, serving numerous international students, enterprise employees and cultural enthusiasts. As the original founder and earliest user of the brand, we have always adhered to the original intention of Chinese language education and cross-cultural exchange.
